I just started reading the book Angels & Demons by Dan Brown. In this book, the main character, Robert Langdon, is a symbologist who knows lots about the history of ancient cultures. In the story, Robert is called by a mysterious man that asks him to come to Geniva to investigate a crime. The misterious caller called at 4 in the morning which was suspicious. The man showed Robert a picture of a crime scene. In the picture there was a dead bloody man with the word "Illuminati" branded on his chest. I predict that while investigating this terrible crime, Robert will get himself into lots of trouble like in the last book, The Da Vinci Code. Robert will probably deal with top leaders in the Illuminati cult. I also predict that somewhere he will meet up with his wife that he has not seen in a while. I think that if he meets up with her, he would drag her into lots of danger. I am looking forward to read this book and see what happens as Robert discovers more about the Illuminati.Monday, November 25, 2013

"The Magicians" Summer Reading
The characters in The Magicians had very dynamic and complex traits about them. Quentin, was the main character. Quentin is a nerdy guy with no real good friends through out his life. Being the smartest in his school, Quentin felt very insecure and alone. An out cast in the social world, Quentin often pondered of a new life with magic and happiness. Quentin would just sit and watch the world go by before his eyes. He rarely talked to people. In the beginning of the book, Quentin would often be very shy and not talkative. In the text, the book states, "Quentin did a magic trick. Nobody noticed. They picked their way down the cold, uneven sidewalk together: James, Julia, and Quentin. James and Julia held hands. That's how things were now. The sidewalk wasn't quite wide enough, so Quentin trailed along like a sulky child. He would have rather been alone with Julia, or just alone period, but you couldn't have everything. Or at least the available evidence pointed overwhelmingly to that conclusion (Grossman, 4). The text explains Quentin very well as a complex character who has feelings and actions. After Quentin joined Brakebills, he became a changed person. Although still upset with his life, Quentin was far more happier and out going. He would stay up late and go partying with a tough attitude. Eventually he became more aggressive and unkind to other people. He would yell and do unjust things. After a while, Quentin found who he really was and learned how to eventually be himself in a calm kind manner. This dynamic character advance the plot for without his attitude, there would be no conflict and story of his self discovery. The theme was advanced because the theme is to find yourself through all the hardships, and with his ways, the character shaped the book.
The Magicians Article is a great representation of the book The Magicians . It gave great detail of how the book was and the information was interesting to read after I had read it. The author of the review showed exactly how the characters were along with their actions in the book. It was a great review and I loved the book.
